WEDDING
BRUCE—TREADWELL. A quiet and pretty wedding was Solemnised at the residence of Mr and Mrs W. J. Treadwell, St. John’s Hill, to-day, when their eldest daughter, Dorothy, was married to Mr John C. Bruce, eldest son of Mr J. D. Bruce, Akaroa. The Eev. E. Harries officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a neat-fitting dress of georgette overlace, trimmed with little circles of pale pink forget-me-note, laced together with silver. She also wore the orthodox veil with orange blossoms, and carried a very pretty bridal shower bouquet. The chief bridesmaid was Miss M. Treadwell, sister of the bride, who Wore a dress of resida green crepe de cbene, trimmed with tiny champagne and georgette pieces. She-also wore a black hat trimmed with cherries. The other bridesmaids were Misses Betty Caldwell and Joan Singleton, who wore dresses of creme net frill, with resida green tulle saehes and black hats to match. The bridesmaids each carried dainty bouquets of apricot and autumn tints. Mrs Treadwell, mother of the bride, was attired in a navy blue crepe de chene coat dress and hat to match. Mr R. Bruce, of Akaroa, brother of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man. vThe wedding breakfast was {artaken ' * at the residence M the ride’s jfcents, the customary toasts - being hraoured and the happy couple receiving numerous valuable presents from their friends. The bride’s travelling costume was a gabardine coat dress, wififa nigger brown chenille trimming, and small fawn pink hat, turned “"yup, with fawn berries.
