SUPPOSED DROWNING ACCIDENT.
(Per United Press Association.) GISBORNE, Nov. 2,
The police received information tonight from Hicks -Bay that a returned soldier named Frederick Trenne, aged about forty years, employed in the new freezing works, disappeared from a party fishing off the rocks near Hicks Bay on Sunday. It is presumed he was washed off the rocks and drowned. .Search" parties are now put.
