TRADE UNION CONGRESS., Reuter.—-November 2, 9 a.m. . DELHI, October 31. The first All-India Trade .Union Congress assembled in Bombay _ under the presidency of Lai Laj-Patrai. Colonel Wedgwood Is present. Laj-Patrai denounced most bitterly the oppressibn, injustices and degradation under which Indians suffered, ,and scathingly contrasted) the British Raja’s lavishnesa as regards .civil servants and thHjr meanness as regards- the- humble demands of telegraph peons and postmen. A central organisation of labour .must -be Freight in to. protect the in(tetesfs of ~Labour throughout , India. Labour well; organised, -properly awakened, and properly applied would, make 'it impossible for any foreign nation to'impose its will on the country. (Vociferous cheering.) v ; ■
