; GIFTS TO HOSPITALS, HANDING OUT .£SOO BANK NOTES. LONDON, Oct. 25. A remarkable story of a mystery man giving away a fortune is related by. secretaries of a number of London leading hospitals and. other charitable institutions. It appears that a shabbily-dressed unknown man, aged 75, is touring the institutions. He asks a few questions in regard to the work, and whether funds are wanted. He then opens a black bag, hands out a .£SOO banknote, refuses to give his name, or take a receipt, and then bolts.
