FEILDING CATTLE FAIR.
SATISFACTORY PRICES REALISED. Prices received at the Feilding Cattle Pair on Friday were satisfactory to vendors. This was specially the case covering fat and store cattle and dairy stock. For young beef cattle the bidding dragged somewhat. The buyers present represented a wider district than usual. Hawke’s Bay buyers were expected to put some life Into the sale, and the expected happened. Taranaki province also showed enterprise, many lines being bought for the Waltbtara district. Store cattle realised up to and over £l7 per head, and fat cattle fetched over £2l. In the dairy cattle pens, any entries showing the Jersey strain met with a ready sale. The yarding would have been larger but for the flooded state of the country In parts. The following is a range of prices;— 4 and syr f. and f. bullocks £l4, £l4 10/-, £ls to £l6; 2yr. steers £ll 10/-, £l3 5/-. to £l3 15/-; 2yr steers (good) £B, £8 10/-, £8 15/-, £9 11/-, to £lO 4/-; poor condition and Inferior sort £4 16/-, £5 11/- to £6 10/-; extra gopd yearling s.h. and h.f.d. cross steers £7 12/- to £8 3/6; others £3 9/6 tp £6 6/-;' fat and-forward cows to £ll 13/6; 2yr empty heifers £6 £7 16/-; 2yr empty dairy heifers £8 12/6, hfd. cows r.w. hfd. bull £9 4/-; good s.h. and hfd. cross yearling heifers £5 4/- to £6 4/-; other yearling heifers £4 2/-, £4 11/-, to £6 7/-. . ; •'
