ALEXANDRA CAVALRY

OLD MEMBERS' ASSOCIATION. THE ANNUAL MEETING. The anm:al meeting of the Alexandra Cavalry Old Members' Association was hold last evening. There were present: l Messrs Jas. Higgie (chairman), Allen Laird, W. R. Morgan, W. Harrison, A, Mullins, F. H. Allen, T. Copeland, Captain Morgan (secretary). An apology for absence was received from Mr C. G. Russell. The annual report was adopted. The election of officers resulted:—* Piesident, Mr J. Higgle; vice-president, Mr C. G. Russell; secretary, Captain E. R. Morgan; treasurer, Mr T. Allison a committee, Messrs A. B. Laird, W. B. Morgan, Captain Morrison, T. Lynch, P. H. Allen, A. Mullins. Votes of thanks were tendered to the president, secretary, treasurer, and assistant secretary for their efforts during the past year. The arranging of the reunion waO left in the hands of the committee. It was resolved to ask the committee to favourably consider the holding of a ball which is mooted. A donation of £\ was received from Captain Morrison for the trophy list. With the additional amount in hand, the committee was empowered to selectl a trophy for the shoot. The secretary explained that the old committee had this matter in view, but the machinery had not been put in motion, and therefore the poll could not take place at this election. However, they could have the ballot paper for the next annual general election. It was resolved that no member be admitted to the forthcoming general meeting except by membership card. Cards will be posted to all financial members before the date of the meeting. It was decided to send a letter of appreciation and thanks to Mr Howell, who arranged the recent'entertainment for the benefit of the Association.
