LOCAL BODIES BORROWING.

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 30. When it was pointed out to the Prime Minister that local bodies have a difficulty in raising loans at' per ceent, Mr Massey replied that the question would be considered, after the end of the session. There had been a great deal of pressure put on the Government from interested quarters to secure an increase in the rate of interest, but it would not do so unless the Government could not help it. “If we are satisfied there is a scarcity of money, and that it is being loaned at below its value we will consider it,” concluded the Premier.
