THE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT,
THE LOCAL TEAM. The selectors have chosen the following"'team to represent Wanganui in the Ladies’ Championship Tourney, to be held at Gisborne, commencing on September 6th:—Misses D. Perrett, R. Robertson, Y. Golding, D. Hall, S. Potaka, I. Jepson, A. Smith, A. Reynolds, L. McMahon, M. Barnes, R. Brookes, M. Sampson. The following teams have entered for the tournament, which promises to be a success:- —Canterbury, Nelson, Wellington, Manawatu, Auckland, Wanganui, Hawke’s Bay, Wairarapzl, and Poverty Bay. The local team will hold practices on the Girls’ College ground at 7 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday,- Wednesday, and Thursday mornings next week. A full muster of the selected players is. essential.
