EMPIRE RIFLE MEETING

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 27. A deputation representing the New Zealand Rifle Clubs’ Association waited ou the Minister of Defence and asked for a Government grant towards sending a New Zealand team to compete at the Empire Rifle Meeting to bo held iu Melbourne in November next. Sir Heaton Rhodes, in reply, said ho had already had the matter under consideration, and a sum of £450 had been provided for. He would be pleased to recommend Cabinet to vote the small additional amount asked for.
