The first series of test wireless messages from Bordeaux (France) were received at Paloaito station, California. They were clear and distinct over a distance of 7200 miles. The Bordeaux station is the most powerful in the world, and was erected by the United States Navy service for France. It is capable of reaching Tatuila, which is practically half-way round the world, where it is believed the message was heard.
