The final of the hundred metres hack swimming resulted;—Eeeloha (America) 1, Kegeris (America) 2, Blitz (Belgium) 3. Time, 75 1-5 sec. AUSTRALASIANS HANDICAPPED. Received August 25, 2.30 p.m. LONDON, August 24. In the hundred metres swimming race, Kahanamoku won in 60.2-5, but was ordered to re-swim, owing to Ross and Kelloha shutting in Herald. In the swimming events the cold, cheerless weather in the open-air baths, and the bitter coldness of the water, handicapped the Australians. Hewitt’s failure in the Marathon wds due to cold rain causing cramp.
