The Lord Mayor has opened a fund for Parer and Mclntosh, who, according to a Calcutta newspaper, established four records between England and Calcutta, namely, the fastest time for the whole trip, the fastest time across India, . the first to do the journey with one engine, and the first to follow caravan routes over the Arabian Desert.
