A Wellington Press Association message announces the death of Mr James McLeilan, who for many years was general manager in New Zealand for J. Lysaght, Ltd., in his 68th year, after a long illness. Deceased was a former president of the Chamber of Commerce and also a member of tbe Harbour Board. Ho was a prominent figure in bowling circles. Mr G. W. Jaird, the Mangaweka a°<;nt of the Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, is r.T present an inmate of Belverdale Hospital, where he is likely to be for about a fortnight.
