CONDEMNED TO DEATH.
To the Editor. Sir,—.Thousands of children under three years of ago are condemned to death. A report from the death centre of the Limine area of Europe says: “News is iiist to hand that only those children between the ages of three and five can be helped, the mites under three must be abandoned to starvation, for there will not be enough food if these are included ” Truly an awful report. There are many kindly people who are helping to the best of their ability, and among them the Church Army, which mst yeai spent £450,000 among our own poor, and is therefore well qualified by ei-pnence to open a “Save the Children Fund,’ and we in New Zealand are helping that fund. Between July 21 and August 20 £2BB 3a was collected and sent direct Home, £125 being cabled on August 21. Our subscribers range from Is and 2s to £SO and £IOO. On© represented a seif-denial of 10s worth of cigarettes to help to save lives—a worthy example. Thanking yon, Mr Editor, for space for advertising and these comments. —I am etc., P. W. WHIBLET, Hon. Sec., Church Army in N.Z. Box 20, Ormcaidville.
