BOROUGH COUNCIL.
ADJOURNED MEETING. The adjourned meeting of the Borough Council was held last night, the Mayor, Mr T. B. Williams, presiding. There were also present; Crs. Aitken, Linford, Richardson, Liffiton, Gower, Sigley. Spriggens, Burnett, Thompson, Sharpe, and Donaldson. CORRESPONDENCE. Preluded in the letters placed before the Council were those on the following matters; DURIE HILL REQUESTS. The Durie Hill Ratepayers' Association wrote drawing attention to several requirements lor the hill suburb. These included the matter of improving and augmenting the water supply, improving the footpath in Taylor Street, drainage of the garden suburb, Supply of electric power to the elevator as soon as tho Napier engine was in commission, and a lamp at the entrance to Park Avenue. —The Mayor stated that the Committee had decided to supply current to the elevator as soon as the engine was running. The other requests were referred to the Works Committee. DRESSING SHED.—A request for the erection of a dressing shed, on Victoria Park was referred to the Reserves Committee. The Mayor remarked that other football clubs had obtained sheds for themselves.
