FOOTBALL
AUCKLAND RUGBY TEAM. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 23. The following team has been selected by the Auckland Rugby Union to play Wellington for the Ranfurly Shield on September sth, ’ Mauawatu at Palmerston North on September Bth, and Taranaki on September 11th: Full-back, J. O’Brien; three-quarters, Kingston, Y. Badeley and Wilson; five-eights, Grierson and C. Badeley; half, Ross; rover, Singe: forwards, Lomas, Taylor, M Hayward, Alexander, Moore, Arnold and Hamilton. Reserves: Nicholson, Laxon, Goville and Campbell. The team will leave Auckland on September 2nd.
