BEAUTIFUL SPY DEAD
END IN LUNATIC ASYLUM. LONDON, August 6. Lizzie Wertlieim, a beautiful spy, has died in a criminal mental r.yshun. She was lorn in Poland in 1882, and was .accomplished and a linguist. She diesesd most elegantly, and frequented all the most fashionable London restaurants. She was arrested on a charge of espionage in 1915 with Rowlands, a German officer. Rowlands was shot in the Tower, and Wertheim was sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment. She was passionately attached to Rowlands, and on hearing" of his death she went mad.
