SERIOUS ACCIDENTS. (Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, August 22. On Saturday Arthur J, Pulton, aged 24, a bushmau, met with an accident at Tahakapa. A tree fell on him, frac taring his left ankle. He was taken to the Dunedin Hospital for treatment, John Archibald, aged 40, a coalminer, residing at Lovell’s Flat, waa crushed by a fall of coal at Dunlop’s Mine, Lovell’s Fiat, on Saturday. His back is badly injured, and Ms left leg badly bruised. He was taken to the Hospital at Dunedin. His condition, is serious.

INFANT’S TRAGIC FATE. TTMARU, August 21. A two-year-old boy named Smith, whose parents were victims of the influenza epidemic, living with an aunt at Geraldine, swallowed caustic soda which the aunt was using. Medical attendance was obtained and the child taken to the Hospital, but he died in the evening from shook and a burned throat. ~
