LABOUR AND EXTREMISTS
LONDON, August 19. Mr Clynes, in an article in the Standard, denies that Labour is dragged at the heels of extremists. lie says; It never gave anything more spontaneous support than the Council of xiction, which did violence to no principle we fought for. We do not approve of the acts of .Bolsheviks nor the principles and conditions of the Soviet Government, nor do we vyisli in any degree to see our own country imitating crude, fantastic plans in establishing a comrniifl’stic Suite. Labour is entitled to t-all a peace policy and to secure it by refusing to be a-party to the war policy of any other section, and to use any particuiau form of influence exertable upon the Government. OF COURSE. SYDNEY, August 20. Tire State Labour Party cabled the Council of Action congratulating them on their attitude regarding Poland and pledging the support of tire Australian Labour Party.
