ALL SPORTS.
(By Telegraph—Special to “Herald”). WELLINGTON, August 18. However divided politically, the House of Representatives was almost of one mind to-day, when tho attractions of the All Black footballers, playing on a sunny afternoon, called the Government and Opposition alike. The only objection to an almost general request came from Mr Holland, but he wa.s overwhelmed, though the Premier did. not easily concede the point. He asked for an undertaking from members to put in a' couple of extra hours in the evening to make up for tbo time lost at the football match. This having been readily promised, his capitulation was hailed with applause. It invested the match with national importance, and was establishing a precedent, he said, dubiously. The House sat for fifteen minutes, and then moved to the Athletic Park. When business was resumed at 7.30, a long discussion followed the presentation of the Cook Island report, so that the Premier’s hope of clearing items off the Order Paper seemed likely to prove vain.
