SUB-PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE. The adjourned monthly meeting' of the Wanganui Sub-Provincial Executive of the farmers’ Union was held this morning, Mr C. Smith presiding. MAXTI’BLLTOWjSi.—“That owing to the seriousness of the grass grub pest in this district, the Government be urged to take steps to advise farmers as to the best method of dealing With the pest, and that the Government Inspector be invited to visit the district anti personally note the ravages of the pest.”—Decided to refer tire matter to the Agricultural Department. oKolA.—“That , tiro Government amend the Fencing Act granting dis creticnary powers to County Councils to enforce owners or lessees of property to keep their road fences in proper repair.”—To be sent to the provincial Executive. BRUNSWICK.—“That the executive urge upon the Agricultural Department the necessity of following up the recent prosecution in connection with the sale of radio manure.”—Referred to the Provincial Executive to deal with. RAPANUI.—“That this branch favours Armour and Co. having a slaughtering license, provided they do not build freezing works or purchase any of the present works in N.Z.”—Referred to branches. RAPANUI. —“That the executive call a general meeting of all branches of the Wanganui Sub-Provincial District, re (a) greater economising of funds, (l>) the re-organisation of the Union on a more sound basis, by cutting out the Sub-Provincial and Provincial Executives and brandies dealing directly with the Dominion Executive.”—Allowed to lapse. WAVERLEY.—'“That the branch support tiio Levin-Marton railway deviation.”—Referred to branches.
