PARAMOUNT MUNICIPAL PICTURES. . BILLIE BURKE IN “THE MIS- ■ LEADING WIDOW.” When Miss Billie Burke appeared in the serial picture story, “Gloria’s Romance,” Wanganui people wore much impressed by her work, and her re-appcarance on the picture screen has been looked forward to with pleasurable interest. At the Opera House to-night that opportunity is to be given, when Miss Billie Burke will take the leading role in “Tho Misleading Widow.”. This big photoplay is said to be full of intensely amusing situations, and is sure to “catch, on” with those who like good acting and well produced pictures. An excellent supporting programme is promised, and a bumper house should he the reward. THE GRAND. NORMA TALMADGE. At the Grand last night there waa shown tiro Selsncok picture, “The Isle of Conquest,” with Norma Talmadge in the. remains of a diminutive fancy dress—all she had left after being wrecked at sea. It is a fast-moving drama, based on a girl’s forced marriage ds convenanoo. A shipwreck isolate® her with a lone companion—a stoker from her husband’s yacht—• upon a tropic island, and hero she learns love and happiness. Her husband’s reappearance, after her heart was given to her companion, weaves a •ireb of complications. The story jr as adapted to the screen by Anita Loog and John Emerson from the novel by Arthur Horublow. The supports include two very fine pictures, one showing the. working of an asbestos mine, and Patho’s Latest Gazette, To-night will be the last screening of this picture. The Grand Orchestra is a feature iu itself a-nd greatly adds to the enjoyment of the entertainment. To-morroW will bo the first episode of “The Man of Might,” a Vitagraph serial, featuring William Duncan.
