SOUTHERN TOUR. The following players, have been chosen for the Wanganui'- Rep. team on its Southern tour. The team will leave on August 27th and Mr G. Any of the above unable to make the trip (extending from Friday, 27th inst., to Monday, September 13th), will notify the secretary of the Rugby Union at once. FITE MATCHES TO BE FLAYED. In all five matches will he played during the tour, the complete programme being as follows: August 23—V. Welinigton, at Wellington, for Ranfurly Shield. September 2.—V. South Canterbury, at Timaru. September 4.—V. Otago, at Dunedin. September 8. —Y. Southland, at Invercargill. September 11— V.Canterbury, at Christ church. WANGANUI Y. MANAWATU. 'The following is the Wanganui team to leave by the 7 a.m. train for Pal merston North on Saturday next, play Manawatu that afterhoon, and return home by the 4 22 p.m. train. Taihape and Rangitikei players will join the train at Marton. Pull-back: MoA-idifl'e. Three-quarters; Lockett, Cowie, Ssyott. Five-eights; Sveuson, Sullivan. Half; Grogan. Wing-forward: Campion. Forwards: Leahy, R., Dillon. Ross, W., Murphy, Lockett, A. Johlin, Bailey. Emergencies.—Backs: F. Collier and Paranihi. Forward; Alabaster. Manager- Mr A. Takarangi. WANGANUI JUNIORS Y. RANGITIKEI. A match is being arranged to bo played on the Rec. next Saturday tietwee ii the Junior representatives *of Wanganui and Rangitikei. In addition Wauganui Technical College (challengers) play Aramoho (holders) for possession of the Maoriland Challenge Cup. The Management Committee of the Wanganui Rugby Union last evening made a grant of ten guineas towards the expenses cf the School Reps.’ visit to the tournament at Wellington early next month.
