IRISH PEOPLE TO WELCOME HIM. LONDON, August 6. Irish organisations iu Liverpool declare that” Archbishop Mannix will receive -Jio greatest welcome ever accorded any Irishman in Lherpcol, where he is cine on Sunday evening or Monday morning. Contingents from many Lancashire towns will participate. As religions feeling is likely to be deeply stirred, the authorities are anxious, and aroj taking precautions. The public will le excluded from the dock. The arrival will be kept as secret as possible. There is even the possibility of tho’styp being diverted to another pert. The Cork City Corporation will send a deputation to confer the freedom of the city on Archbishop Mannix. The Sinn Fein executive at Cork has .ordered the people to vhaug out flags on Sunday in Archbishop Mannix’s honour. The Sinn Feiners in the south of Ireland have arranged a series of bonfires along the coast, but the Baltic is likely to take the northern route. The Dublin Corporation, at a special meeting, decided to confer the freedom of the city on Archbishop Mannix.
