THE BEDS IN POLAND. Times. LONDON, July 26. Despite the armistice, continuous fighting is going on along the Polish front. The Poles, after a sanguinary battle, recaptured Grodno. POLISH WOMEN’S BATTALION DISAPPEARS. LONDON, July 26. The Morning Post’s Warsaw correspondent reports; Since the Reds occupied Yilna, nothing has been heard of the Polish women’s battalion, which was holding eight miles of front. It was commanded by an attractive young woman. The correspondent adds: It is painfully easy to. imagine her fate. AMERICA’S ATTITUDE. NEW YORK, July 26. The New York American’s Washington correspondent says: It is understood President Wilson will probably shortly make a statement on the Polish situation, and there are indications that he wilt tender financial support to Poland. Confirmation of this belief is not yet obtainable, the State Department not wishing to make any comment. SOVIETS REPLY TO BRITAIN, LONDON, July 26. The Daily Mail states that the Soviet Government has notified the British Government that it is agreeable to hold a peace conference with the Allies in London, as suggested in the Note from Spa, but as a first condition it insists on the surrender of Wrangel, whose safety it guarantees. The Soviet Government expresses astonishment at Britain's action in interrupting discussion for the resumption of trade;
