STONE-THROWING AT GOOLMA
GULGONG, April 25.
The mysterious stone-throwing at Goolma continues, notwithstanding- the efforts of local residents and police to cope with it. All efforts to identify the perpetrators have failed. The 'two rabtiters, ,T. Benson and J. Devine, against whom (the stones were directed, gave up their trapping in Mr O’Connor’s paddock, the original scene of the stonethrowing, and accepted employment at fencing by Mr M. Sheridan, on his property, half a mile distant. In the early part of last week they were accommodated at Mr jSheiidan's house, which regularly ever night was bombarded with stones. Later in the week Beneon and Devin© took up their residence at Mr James Shearman’s house, which also came in for attention. On Friday night a number of residents formed a search parity, and in the Stone-throwing that was renewed one of them, Mr James Hanslow, was struck in the jaw and was somewhat badly hurt.
