The Republican leaders expect considerable difficulties in obtaining enough votes to adopt the Knox peace resolutions. They are confident, however, that they will command a majority once they can force a roll call, but the belief is expressed that the Democrats will delay the roll call by every possible Parliamnetary means, in order to save President Wilson the embarrassment of vetoing the resolutions and incurring the responsibility of further delaying peace. Senator Lodge will call up the resolution on May sth.
