FRENCH STRIKE FAILS
Association.—May 3, 10 a.m. PARIS, May 2. Only one-third of the railwaymen ia Paris obeyed the summons to cease work, and the strike failed. A soldier five men and women, automob ling madly along the Avenue Gobelins, discharged revolvers, severely wounding a girl in the crowd. The automobile crashed into a trolley post, and the soldier and a woman were thrown ouj and killed Instantaneously. Extremists among the three thousand demonstrators in the place Republique last night exchanged many ;hots with the police, four of the latttr and mnay civilians being wounded.
