CHEAPER SUITS.

A PERMANENT SCHEME. Mr Mallaby Deeley, M.P., in an interview, stated that the success of his scheme for supplying suits at-reason-able figures had been beyond all possible calculation. The public response in London alone had been enormous, rendering it impossible to. deal with the country applications for patterns, which now number 80,000 to 100,000. “Under these circumstances,” said Mr Mallaby Deeley, “1 feel I must, in justice to the public, issue a statement shortly under my own name, taking the public into my confidence and giving them the full facts and the present position of the matter. The success has been beyond doubt, thanks to the public support. I have never been very much concerned in this matter as to whether the. financial results to myself would be beneficial or otherwise, but I can now say from the public support given to the enterprise that it will be a permanent one. All I ask the public now is their patience and forbearance."

In reply to a question Mr Mallahy Deeley said; “The statement that I have undertaken a similar scheme for women is quite untrue, as I have had no time to consider it, and I know of its difficulties and dangers.”—-Weekly Scotsman.
