ACQUISITION OF LAND.

LOCAL BOARDS APPOINTED, Some time ago the Minister of Lands (Hon. D. H. Guthrie) announced that, in order to expedite the acquisition of lands for settlement by returned soldiers, and also to assist the Land Purchase Board in coming to right decisions in respect of land offered for sale to the Government, ho would appoint local Land Purchase Boards to co-operata with the Central Board. The appointment of these, local boards is gazetted.
