AUCKLAND SITTINGS. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, February 7. At the Supreme Court, Stokes, who pleaded guilty to ten charges of false pretences, theft and forgery, was sentenced to twelve months’ imprisonment and declared an habitual criminal. Walter George Wheeler, 29 years, who has 25 convictions since he arrived in Now Zealand four years ago, was sentenced to twelve months and declared an habitual criminal. On eleven charges of forgery and false pretences, Oscar Strangebye, a Norwegian, was declared an habitual criminal and sentenced to two years. For breaking and entering a similar sentence was passed on Charles Henderson. For false pretences Harry James Pitzgibbon was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment. For assaulting a mate Henry Waanui, leader in a theft from the person at Tokoraam, was ordered two years’ reformative’treatment. Two younger accomplices, Henry Soloman and Kawa Riki, were admitted to probation.
