INFLUENZA.

ANOTHER CASE FROM THE JOHN. Another case of influenza, a mild one, was taken from the John this morning and sent to the hospital. The patient is an officer. No work was done on the ship to-day and it is not now expected that she will work until Monday morning.. NO NEW CASES IN TOWN. No new cases were reported from either the town or district this morning, and the position locally appears to be very satisfactory. This morning, as an extra precaution, the Borough workmen commenced the use of disinfectant on the streets. All four patients from the John are now' doing very nicely and the condition of the patients admitted yesterday has been found not to be so serious as first reported. CHILDREN AT THEATRES. ADMISSION REFUSED. As most of our readers know the Health Department has prohibited, for the present, the admission of children under 15 tQ picture theatres. and the greater number of the public are cheerfully observing The restriction. There appear, however, to be some parents who either have not heard of the prohibition, or who consider it a dead letter, and every evening there are still a number of young folk under the specified age presenting themselves at the doors, some in company with parents, and some by themselves. In every case, however, the management is strictly following the Health Department’s requirements, and turning them away. We have been asked to state that, until the embargo is lifted, there will be absolutely no deviation from the rule, and that any one under 15 who attempts to gain admission to the theatres will be refused. This will apply to matinees, as well as to even’ng performances. Those parents who have not yet noted the fact, should, therefore, do so. and thus save themselves, as well as others, the annoyance which disregard of the rule is bound to cause. THE SCHOOLS. CLOSED TILL FURTHER NOTICE. All provisional dates set for the re-assembling of schools are cancelled, the Health Department having notified that all schools, primary or secondary, are to remain closed until further notice. The proposed re-opening on Monday or Tuesday next will, therefore, not eventuate, and until official word of re-assemb-ly is received, the present holiday will continue.
