TWO CHILDREN DROWNED.

(Per United Frees Association.) GISBORNE, February 6. A drowning accident at Kaiteratahi late this afternoon resulted in the death of two children named Zona May Lasker (seven years) and William Lasker (eight years). The father is C. Lasker, who is a foreman at the Poverty Bay Meat Works. It is stated 'that the children, accompanied by a Maori boy named Waaka, were sent ait 4.30 to a store for bread. About 5 p.m. Waaka arrived at the store and told a lad named Cameron that the two Lasker children went in to bathe and did nolb come no, and that he saw babbles arising on the surface. Alarm was given and a number of persons dived for the bodies, which were recovered at 5.30,
