AMUSEMENTS.

WOOL STOREMEN’S SMOKE CONCERT. While Messrs, A. L. Monteith and J. McKenzie, of Wellington, were in Wanganui, acting on behalf of the local storemen on the Council of Conciliation, a smoke concert was arranged and held on Wednesday evening in the Druids’ Hall. A company of 60 gathered, including representatives of various trades unions, and a very enjoyable time was spent. When responding to “Our Guests,” Messrs Monteith and McKenzie thanked the sto re pie n for the kindly reception, which spoke well for the solidarity of Unionism in Wanganui. “Kindred Organisations” was proposed by Mr T. Palmer, and responded to by Messrs J. Townsend (N.Z. Workers' Union), L.j Mcllvride • and J. W. Green (Drivers’ Union). Yocal items, step-dancing, and club swinging added to the enjoyment of a very sociable evening.
