THE CONFERENCE PROPOSAL,

(Per United Preen Association.) WELLINGTON, January 30

Mr Arbuckle stated to-day that the Miners’ Federation could not agree with Mr Massey that the Alliance of Labour was only a stumbling block to a further conference. The only time the coalmine owners expressed their willingness to hold another conference without the Alliance stipulated for such restricted discussion that the Federation could not agree.
