Major Lloyd George, interviewed regarding the English purchases of AmcGcan steel, said thc.-e had now been considerably reduced owing to lack of Capply and the unfavourable rate of ex•than go. Japan was buying large quantities of steel in Scotland, mainly for tulip-building.
