Chimera was scratched this morning for the Craven Date and Little River tor the Middle Park Plato at the Can- V terbury Jockey Club’s meeting.
The chief stake winner at the Wellington meeting was Mr F. S. Easton, for whom Amy thus won the big event on each of the two later days. Those who won over £4OO were:—P. S. Easton £1225, G. L. Stead £llls, Sir George Clifford £lllO, F, Preston £875, G. D. Beatson £750, W. R. Kcmball £6OO, Y. T. Barren £550, W. K Herbert £490, W. G. Stead £450, TA, Duncan £440. Hie most successful jockey at the Wellington meeting teas G. Young, who rode five winners, including the winner of the Wellington Racing Club Handicap, the Summer Handicap, and the Consolation Handicap. Next on the list comes tbe promising apprentice, A. Ellis, with three wins. Two wins each were secured by H. Young, R. Reed, A. Reed, and R. S. Ragby. * When be won the Summer Handicap on Saturday, Amythas simply played with the field over the last furlong, and won comfortably. The three-year-old son of Demosthenes was one of the last to leave the mark, a fact which enhances the merit of his performance*
