ODDFELLOWS.
At the half-yearly meeting of tie Pyramid Lodge, No. 5 1.0.0. F., held at the Druids’ Hail on Tuesday evening, there was a record attendance of members. After the usual business was finished, the Lodge prepared for the installation of officers for the ensuing term, which was most successfully carried out by tie D.P.G.M. (Bro. Smillie], assisted by several I’.G, officers from the Palmerston North and Daniievirke Lodges. The following a,re the names of the ncwlyi installed officers:—X.G., Bro. Harry Lawrence; Y.G., Bro. E. H. Mardoir recording secretary, Bro. G. Wood; financial secretary, Bro. H. G. Hawtroe (re-elected); treasurer, Bro. D. S. Janes (re-elected). After the ceremony of installation was concluded, the members and officers of the alcove Lodge entertained the visiting members to a social evening. The tables were filled to overflowing, and when full justice had been done to all tie good things provided, several toast-s were proposed—“ The King,” “Grand Lodge of New Zealand,” “Visiting Members,” “Returned Soldier Members”— which were suitably responded to bv D.P.G.M. Bro. Smillie, and P.G. Bro. Anderson, of Dannevirke. Songs and recitations were given by various members and the ventriloquist and conjuring tricks performed by Bro. Bert Gray were very much appreciated. After a most enjoyable eveniiTg was spent, the meeting broke up shortly after midnight with the singing of “They are Jolly Good hollows.” and “Auld Syne.” ’ °
