GERMAN DYES.
AUSTRALIA’S SHARE,
ARRANGEMENT FOR ALLOCATION.
MELBOURNE, January 12
The Peace Treaty provides for the securing by the British Government from Germany of certain dyes not made on a commercial scale in Great Britain, and the British Government has decided, to allocate some of these to Australia.
The dyes are for direct cotton colours, union colours, acid wool colours, chrome and mordant colours, basic colours, sulphide colours, vat colours, spirit, soluble, and wax colours.
The Minister for Customs desires textile manufacturers, dyers, leather manufacturers, and other persons requiring dyes to furnish at the earliest moment a list of their requirements to the Collector of Customs, so that the British Government may be assisted in allotting Australia’s share of the dyes obtained. The names of dyes given should be the usual trade denominations, to serve for easy identification. The quantities of dyes required should he stated on the basis of about a twelve months’ supply. In the event of a larg'cr quantity of dyes being ordered from Australia than can be supplied, a pro rata distribution will bo made.
