NORMAN ROSS TOUR OF NEW ZEALAND ABANDONED.
(Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, January 7. Owing to Norman Ross, the American, swimmer, being unable to reach New Zealand until the end of February, and be obliged to leave on March 6, the New Zealand Swimming Association has communicated with the Australian Union abandoning the arrangements made for a New Zealand tour. NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. WANGANUI REPRESENTATION. Messrs H. Cooper and A. Muller, selectors for the Wanganui Centre of the N.Z.A.S.A., have chosen the following to represent Wanganui at the forthcoming Championship meeting to be held at Auckland in February: 100 Yards and 440 Yards.—V. H. Reid. 220 Yards and 440 Yards.—T. Thomas. 880 Yards and Mile.—A. Muller. School Boys.—Dowsett. Intermediate Boys.—Johnston. Dowsett and Reid are away oh holidays, but the other representatives have commenced training. Both Thomas and Muller are said to be putting in some solid work, and it is confidently believed that they will be hard to beat in the distance events.
