PRICES IN GERMANY.. POTATOES, MEAT AND COAL SHORT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association Received January 7, 9.55 a.m. BERLIN, Jan. 5. The new official prices include flour 7%d per pound, bread 6%d per lb, potatoes 2%d per lb. Potatoes are in short supply and a full ration is unavailable. The supply may be exhausted in March. Butter is selling at 12s 4d, representing a rise of 100 per cent.; margarine at 6s sd; meat at 4s 3d. The meat ration is half a pound weekly. There is an acute shortage of coal. The majority of houses seem to be without coal, and briquettes are selling at 145s per ton.
