Sir Auckland Geddes, addressing the Industrial League, said that the country was employing 300,000 more men and women than before the war. It was estimated that it would be necessary to employ another million, making 15J million, in all trades as expansion of industries increased. We arc nearing the moment when a cheeky would oome to the fuel position. Nothing gave the Government more anxiety. It was essential to produce more coal. There must bo close co-operation between all parties in order to solve the difficulty.
