WAR RESPONSIBILITY COMMITTEE.

HXNDENBUEG’S EVIDENCE. Australian and KZ. Cable Association. Received November 22, 9,50 a.m, BERLIN, November 19. Hindenburg and Lndendorff gave evidence before the War Responsibility Committee. The chairman at the outset interrupted Hindenburg, and demanded facts, not opinions. Hindenburg said that as soon as he and Lndendorff assumed the chief, command they regarded the unrestricted use of submarines as imperative in order to relieve the Western front, but refrained for a time because Hollweg feared that Holland and Denmark would attack Germany. Hollweg interposed, giving evidence that He wanted unrestricted submannings further postponed, but Admiral Holtsendorff said it was impossible. He therefore regarded the question as settled, otherwise he would have informed Hindenburg that he still favoured postponement on political grounds.
