THE GEAND,
To-night, at 8 o’clock, the management of the Grand will present seven acts of swift action and tense interest in the First National feature, “On Trial,’’ in which Barbara Castleton, Sydney Ainsworth, and little Mary MacAJister are featured. It iia an adaptation of a stage drama that met with great success, written by an author who is worldfamous, and the name of “First National” is a guarantee of its outstanding merit. The plot is said to be unique in vividness and intensity, and in its play on the emotions. Also it is a mystery play, which works up to a dramatic climax. The supports include the latest Pathe Gazette and a scenic. The Grand Orchestra will play special musical selections.
“THE HAYSEEDS,”
Dad, mum, and all the Hayseeds are due to arrive at the Grand Theatre on Thursday next, per medium of Beaumont Smith’s latest movie production, depicting life «>n a way-back selection. In it there is a bush fued, a bush fire, a bush wooing, a bush wedding, a bush christening, bush dance, and a host of other bush happenings. The company engaged on it was a strong cne, and includes such well-known players as Eoy Eedgraves, G. Kay Souper, Tom Cannam, Walter Cornock, H. H. Wallace, Nan Taylor, Esther Mitchell, P. Helmrich, Yera Spaull, and the clever young New Zealand actress, Cecil Haines, who recently appeared with Guy Bates Post in Australia with much credit. Seats may be reserved at Upton’s.
