HUNT FOR GOLD.
GENTLEMAN ADEJVNTURES OFF TO DUTCH GUIANA. The New York Tribune says that Mr Terry Tiffany, an American gold prospector, with Mrs Tiffany and 50 gentlemen adventurers, have left New York on board the Dutch steamer Prins der Nederland for Dutch Guiana on a hunt tor gold along the Maroni River, which runs between Dutch Guiana and French Guiana." The steamer carries modern mining machinery, and among the party are ten engineers. Mr Tiffany eighteen years ago discovered gold 200 miles inland, and he lately succeeded in interesting friends, who have formed a company with a capital of £400,000 for exploitation purposes. Mr. Tiffany went to Franc© and Holland during tFe war, and obtained concessions giving him mining , privileges along a hundred miles of the Maroni’s banks. He will establish headquarters at Paramaribo, and will carry supplies up the Maroni in. a- submarine chaser, purchased from the Government, to the gold lands, which are 150 miles from the Equator in the yellow fever region. All the members of the party expect to teturA as millionaires.
