RAILWAY FATALITY.
MAN KILLED BY TRAIN. TRAGEDY AT ARAMQHO. The long list of railway fatalities in' this country was added to last night, when a shocking accident occurred at the Arair.oho station upon'the arrival of the train from Wellington. 'ljhe victim was Thomas Michael Kane, who was known to many residents in this town. He was a traveller from Wellington by the train. He was travelling in a carriage with tome companions, and when the train was backing into the station he tried to alight. One of his feet was caught between the step and the platform, and he was dragged along a carriage length, eventually falling between two carriages. He was terribly injured, and must have been killed instantaneously. A carriage had to be jacked ' up so that the' body could be released, and some time elapsed before this couli be accomplished. Deceased, who was about 35 years of age, was a returned soldier, and had been back from the front for about two years. An inquest was opened this morning, ?-nd after formal evidence of identification was taken, it was adjourned sine "die by the Coroner.
