THE SEAMEN’S STRIKE.
BROKEN HILL MINES ©LOSING. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association, Received Julv 9. 11.40 a.m, SYDNEY, July 9. The seamen have decided to stand loyally together until their claims are granted. The first strike is being issued to-day. As a result of the seamen’s strike the Broken Hill Proprietary works at Newcastle are closing down, rendering four thousand idle. 4000 WATERSIDERS IDLE IN SYDNEY. SYDNEY, July 9. There are now four thousand watersiders idle. ■ i FEDERAL CABINET TO TAKE ACTION. MELBOURNE, July 9. The Federal Cabinet, after a lengthy consideration of the seamen’s strike, decided to take and enforce a certain line of action. Mr Watt, ActingFederal Prime Minister, refused to give details. '
