A BOY DROWNED. (Per United Press .Association.) GISBORNE, July 4. This afternoon on the occasion of a school holiday for the signing of the Peace Treaty, Frederick. James Pitkington, eleven years old, left home with a vonnger brother to play on the beach. ''The elder lad afterwards returned home by himself for fishing tackle. Two hours later bis body was seen floating in the Tnranganui liver, near the centre of the town. RcsuscitaUon methods were applied for two hours, but were of no avail.
