An Anekland press message states that the Rev. tattler Games Patterson died last night at Takapuna, where he had lived a retired life for some time owing to advanced age . b ( ■ Mr George Greville Bridges, RegistrarGeneral of Lands and District Land llcgistrar at Wellington, retired on superannuation, on Saturday, after 40 years’ service in the Department. Mr 11. D. Forsyth, managing director of the Eltham Dairy Company, left yesterday for W’ellington, where he catches the Moana for Vancouver. He visits Canada, United Slates and England in connection with the dairying industry. He is accompanied by Mrs Forsyth. At the annual meeting of the Feildin<* Agricultural and Pastoral Association officers were appointed as follows President Mr 0. McElroy; vice-presidents, the Hon. D. H. Guthrie (Minister of Lands), Messrs G. J. Harford (Mayor), W . H. Brewster and J. J. Bryne; hon. treasurer, Mr J. W. Bramwell; committee, Messrs Hugh Burrell, W. Ecidt F. J. Boddv, F. F. Haggitt, C. Evans, fi. J. Booth, J. B. Bradley, and B. Short; auditors, Messrs, Messrs A H Maguire and E. J. 'Wackrill. Lieutenant-Colonel H. J. McLean, of Feilding, who left Great Britain for a * an< * by the Maunganui on May 1/th, was formerly in charge of field ambulances in Prance and Germany, and at Codford Hospital in England, and was appointed A.D.M.S. during demobilisation of our troops in Germany. Mr W. T. Jennings, M.P, for Taumarunui. was in town for a short time to-day on his return to New Plymouth from Taringamotu, where he yesterday officially-opened a new bridge. Taringamotu is on the main road between Te Kuiti and Taumarunui, and there was a big gathering, including the Mayor of Taumarunui and the chairman of the Ohura County Council. Captain C. E. Blayner, late Squadron Commander of the Royal Air Force has been appointed to the charge of’ the motor department of the N.Z. Farmers’ Co -Op. Distributing Co.. Ltd., Wellington. and will take up his duties about the middle of this month.
