The figures are subject to final verification, but will serve as a basis of the claims that will be presented to Germany. They are'as follows; Prance.—ls.ooo,ooo,ooo dollars. 8e1gium.—7,500,000,000 dollars. Britain.— 5,000,000,000 dollars. Russia (including Poland)— 7,000,000,000 dollars. 1ta1y.—1,500,000,000 dollars. Servia.— 1,000,000,000 dollars. Roumania.—l,ooo,ooo.COO dollars. United States.—7so,ooo,ooo dollars. Greece.—soo,ooo,ooo dollars. Czecho-Slovakia.— 500.000,000 dollars. Japan.—2so.ooo,ooo dollars. Portugal.—loo,ooo,ooo dollars. China, Siam, Armenia and others. — About 250,000,000 dollars. Belgium will be entitled to prior «Jaim against Germany. France and Servia will be next, humiliation. Moreover, Samoa can be made to pay its way. No garrison will be required, and its trade will be valuable to New Zealand. It is considered by competent authorities that Samoa is one of the most important strategic and trading centres in the Pacific. New Zealand newspapers also state that our administration of the Cook Islands ha.l failed, this proving our incapacity for accepting control o? Samoa.
